Today, Google has announced the launch of the "authoritative" Google Knol. Knol stands for "a unit of knowledge," or, in practice, "an authoritative article about a specific topic." By 5:00 pm, ten thousand teenage boys will have written knols about their penii. (Ba-dum-bum!) This weekend, I will test the worthiness of this new tool by attempting to verify the authenticity of one knol in particular: Buttermilk pancakes.
