Trying Too Hard

To be funny, that is. Check out this headline from Slate:

Really? Are they that hard up for material? I know they're up against some stiff competition, but come on!

(See, it isn't funny when I do it, either.)

Then there's Rachel Maddow, who I'm sure won't be called out by the rest of the media for her mocking of a nation's tradidional garb, calling it "funny costumes." Not funny, Rachel. Where are the PC police when you need them.

And last, but not least, there's Drudge, beating the war drums because the economy sucks and he needs some new headlines:

Of course, no one is talking about the real tragedy that occured last night. Yes, I'm referring to Lance Bass's completely lazy and boring freestyle routine for the DWTS finale. I was so disappointed, after finally coming around to his side, wanting him to win, because his dances had gotten phenomenally better. And then he goes and does that crap, looking like a marionette with permagrin.

Remember on Thursday that you do have something to be thankful for: you're not any of these idiots.

UPDATE: Now this is what funny looks like.
