Bioblitz Friday

Over a period of 24 hours, beginning at 3:00 pm this Friday, July 11th, the Vermont state capitol of Montpelier will be overrun with Biologists, scientists, and everyone else who wishes to participate, in a Bioblitz. From the website:
BioBlitzes are a blend of science, celebration, education, community, and loads of fun. Biologists and ordinary citizens fan out to find orchids and otters, ferns and frogs, birds and butterflies, lichens and liverworts. Anything living is fair game. What we discover will be tallied, catalogued, and presented for everyone to see. And it all happens in one 24-hour period.

Bioblitzes have been publicized for a little while now on the National Geographic website. With the current hot and humid weather we're having, wildlife is certainly plentiful, and the event should be great fun for adults and kids alike. Maybe we'll see you there?!
