So Now I'm A Bigot . . .

Read the comments on this thread.

The fact that one has the right to do something doesn't mean it's always the appropriate or right thing to do. Try telling that to Fritz. Evidently, making the suggestion that traditional attire be donned for a traditional ceremony is too much for the militant among us. It has nothing to do with what one wears in their everyday life.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhh!

Oh for God's sake! Fritz is now on my "people to bitch slap if I meet them" list.

But seriously... He (or she? I don't want to be a bigot after all) is just one more example of the "me" culture that runs roughshod over any good sense or concern for common good or general welfare.

Oy Vey. Another self-styled "free speech" martyr...

It has been many moons since I've heard an American use the terms "right to assembly" and "freedom of expression" correctly. These are legal terms with very specific meanings socially and politically. But as used by most Americans, they've become the last resort of those who've lost the debate.

"This is a free country" has got to be the most hackneyed talking point ever. It doesn't even mean anything. And it shows the speaker as having the intellectual prowess of a third grader.

Hey, I didn't know that was you Jamie! Good job. I check Pam's blog now and then but much of the commentary can be a bit...over the top.

My fave: How are you different from men who put women in burqas?

Idiocy on (and maybe in a) parade.
