Time For A Change

Thanks for coming to the new site! There's still some construction left to do, so don't be too concerned if you notice something missing.

Please leave me your comments on the layout of the site, readability, etc, etc. After 83,000 hits on the old site, I decided it was time for a change.

I'll be back in a while to see if there've been any new visitors.

Bloody Buggery Hell. It's not enough to change your template, but now you have to change your entire blogging platform. Do you realize the changes...er, change this forces me to do with my own blogroll?

Seriously, you need to consider my needs more.

I still have a few links to put up, but while I like the abilities of Wordpress, such as the stats page, the blogger platform allows me more flexibility in the template. I can add all sorts of nonsensical goodies. I'm currently searching for certain widgets that I remember not working on Wordpress. WP.com doesn't allow flash or javascript, so that's a really big downside.
And ads, of course. After 2 years it's about time I started making some coin when I get traffic--though I know it's negligible unless I get some big ads, but still . . .

I figured that the comment preview would be a good tradeoff for the verification.

And whaddya mean the horse has a nice ass!! I'm in that picture, too, ya know! lol

Looks like a new format is inviting. Caulk makes a point, lots of columns makes clutter. Just down the hill in Boston here, I'll look more frequently to you site. A little regional rapport.

Looks pretty nice. Be careful with the dark colored text on the dark background. I can't read the current post with the blue text on the crappy monitor I have at work. More contrast difference is needed.

Yeah, Keith, I noticed that and changed it right away. If you refresh your screen it should be easier to read.

One thing. Can you add the Name/URL option under the "Choose an indentity" section in comments (like at Kevin and Patrick's?). Or can you tell me how to properly do that Open ID thingy? I don't like being called caulk.

ah, you've come over to the blogger side!
And you don't need the word verification unless your having problems.

John,

The OpenID always had me labelled as imustbedreaming, so I really don't know how to change it. I'll see if I can find a way. It's a pain, but I really don't want to allow anonymous comments and I think that's the other option.

Unless I install the Haloscan . . .which I might.
