Quickies

  • McCain demoralizes gay voters with his comments on adoption. Seriously, this makes me less likely to vote for this jackass than everything else said or done by anyone this election season.
  • Seven hours . . . I caught this video on the LATimes front page, labelled "Guantanamo Interrogation Video:"
  • THIS, however, is a mighty big deal. Budweiser is so innately American that its commercials are perennially expected at each year's Super Bowl. Now the company is no longer an American one? Whitetrashistan will not be amused.
  • Either someone stole my rooster because they were sick of it crowing, or that skinny f'ing dog I've seen around ate it while we were out yesterday. And either way, I'd better not find out . . .
  • Speaking of pets . . .

The Bud deal doesn't bother me one whit. Miller (SABMiller) and Coors (Molson Coors)are both foreign owned. It's not like they are going to kill teh Clydesdales or anything.

That poor little teenager everyone is heartbroken about is charged with throwing the hand grenade that killed Army Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Speer of Albuquerque, and otherwise making war on the United States. His brother is in jail in Canada on terrorism charges, and his father is a head honcho in al-Qaeda. I doubt he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time as he claims. I'm finding it difficult to muster sympathy for his crocodile tears.

McCain remains me of my grandfather (who still refers to African Americans as "negroes" and thinks homosexuality is a "mental illness").

My grandfather is a relic from a different time. And although I wish him well as he marches towards triple digits, the brand of bigotry he represents has no place in the 21st century. And I sure as Hell wouldn't vote for him to be my mayor, governor, or president.

Respect for elders or not, his values are simply not my values.

JohnInIl: I prefer Gin, anyway.

Kevin: That was my thought. Actually, my first thought, and what I redacted from the post, was that we have harsher interviews for babysitters up here. Truly. What, they nagged the kid for 4 days and he broke down in tears? Spare me. Try growing up in the house I grew up in. THEN cry me a river.

John,

Well said. There's no one for me to vote for. I may have to write in Hillary.

Did I say "remains"? Heh.

Talk about a Freudian slip...

So here you are! I'll have to change my link to your blog. I love the new look, and your posts are excellent as always.

I don't drink Bud, McCain's an ass, and I couldn't find that interrogation video, but I gather that the little fellow was treated in a less than stellar fashion. I think that those who wish mass amounts of people dead, and do their best to see that it happens should receive a really big spanking. I know it's mean, but I'm just funny that way.

Thanks for the link.
